Ninth Inning Thoughts

  • Adam Everett used as a pinch hitter?  Just because he can't hit, that does not mean he can be used in small ball situations.
  • Did I mention bringing Adam Everett on to bunt with no element of surprise is a bad move?  Let Anderson's speed get him over to second and then have Everett (or Larish since you are taking the bat out of the batter's hands, does it really matter which side he comes from?).  I'll repeat this until I'm blue in the face.  Bunting a runner to second base is not sound strategy; bunting him to third base is!
  • Speaking of Anderson, the play in which he was picked off was a balk.  It bothers me to no end that lefties are not called for balks on plays where they step toward home on a pickoff.
